What I know essay I know how to ride. People say “oh just sit down and twist the throttle”. If it was that easy more people would ride. I know how to ride and that is not how you ride.
I've been riding motorcycles since I was 5. I could ride a bike before i could walk, so riding takes a lot of practice Just like everything else in this world.Knowing how to ride well can save you when your in a sticky situation. Riding isnt always just practice and skill, some luck is involved.
There has been many occasions where my knowledge of riding has kept me from falling off. For example if i hit a bump the wrong way and it kicks me sideways, I know to hang on and shift my weight the other way. After riding for a long time, having those occasions where you almost fall off gets fixed automatically in your brain. So, most of the times that happened you don't even know what you did to stay on. I guess that's where the luck portion comes into play, but it's really just muscle memory.
Now for the people who say riding is easy. I've seen a lot of new people try to ride a motorcycle, and they all make the same mistakes. Usually, when they go to take off, they “pop the clutch” and loop the bike. Another mistake a newbie will make is ride too small of a bike. For some reason people think to ride a smaller bike because it will easier. It's actually the exact opposite because if you hit a bump the suspension can't handle the weight of the person and will throw your off the bike. After talking to new people who ride, they also said riding was difficult. Finally, I would like to conclude by telling you that riding is not easy and takes years of practice. For all the non believers who think riding is easy, go and try it yourself and see how that works out. I know how to ride. This is what I know.
